Steve Mau, ECP-SM, owner, Brainerd General Rental, Brainerd, Minn., and American Rental Association (ARA) president, began his year as ARA president at The ARA Show™ 2023 in Orlando. 

Southeastern event rental provider EventWorks and Frisco, Texas-based drape and scenic elements provider Quest Events are merging.

H&E Equipment Services, Baton Rouge, La., has opened a new branch in Daytona Beach, Fla. The facility is the company’s fifth new location in Florida since the second half of 2022 and 13th overall in the state.

Andrea Guzzoni, 33, CEO and co-founder, easyHire Technologies LTD, London, became involved in the rental industry nearly seven years ago when he launched Rentuu, a startup company that has evolved into easyHire Technologies. 

Michael Larsen, 20, hire manager, Larsen’s Air Conditioning Hire, Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia, says he was “born into the equipment rental industry” with his parents, David and Caroline, who started the business in the early 2000s.

The sounds of jazz, tastes of world-class cuisine, and sights of a historic city will serve as the backdrop for The ARA Show™ 2024.

Hello, American Rental Association (ARA) Region Three members. I hope it’s been a great spring rental season for you so far. I’m Kimberly Taylor, CERP, CEO of TCS Event Rentals in Burlington, N.C., and president of the ARA of North Carolina, and I’m pleased to be able to share a few workforce development ideas with you.

Eleven members from ARA’s Region Three took part in the National Legislative Caucus in Washington, D.C., in March.

Happy May to all American Rental Association (ARA) members in Region Nine. As president of the ARA of California board, I feel like it's been a busy year for members. In February, many of us attended The ARA Show™ in Orlando. Our region also participated in ARA's National Legislative Caucus in March. Then in April, the ARA of California held its State Legislative Day.  

Plans are already underway for The ARA Show 2024, which will return to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans from Feb. 18-21.

The new American Rental Association (ARA) Tent Ballasting Tool, which was unveiled at The ARA Show™ 2023 in Orlando this past February, is something those in the event industry have been wanting for a long time because there has not been a designated best practice or standard for the proper ballasting of non-engineered tents.

The ARA Show™ 2023, held back in February in Orlando, featured more than 700 exhibitors.
