Returning to the Big Easy

By Steve Campbell

January 2, 2024

The countdown is on for The ARA Show™ to return to one of the favorite destinations for show attendees and exhibitors: New Orleans. The Big Easy will play host to the world’s largest equipment and event rental trade show from Feb. 18-21, 2024.

2024 will mark the show’s 10th time in New Orleans, but the first since 2018. New Orleans is known for its music and food, but will add rental-specific education, networking, and new event and equipment products to the list when The ARA Show 2024 takes over Halls D-J of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

The show kicks off with the return of EventsU on Saturday, Feb. 17. This reimagined full-day program for event rental professionals was launched last year in Orlando. It will feature event rental-specific education topics plus plenty of networking for attendees.

The following day, Sunday, Feb. 18, is a full day of education for both event and equipment rental segments. There are 16 sessions divided into four tracks, including:
Learn & Lead
Connect & Collaborate
Empower & Engage
Plan & Strategize

Sunday also includes the ARA Industry Awards Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., highlighted by the Rental Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Bruce Campbell, Do it Best Corp, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jay D. Chapin, Taylor Rental Corp., Springfield, Mass. American Rental Association (ARA) volunteer award winners also will be recognized during this event.

Monday, Feb. 19, is a busy day, and it all starts at 8 a.m. with the Keynote Session presented by Jon Taffer, a renowned hospitality expert and star of the hit TV show “Bar Rescue,” an authority in turning struggling businesses into thriving successes. With his extensive knowledge in the hospitality industry and exceptional business acumen, Taffer is sure to deliver an inspiring and enlightening keynote that all attendees can draw something from.

Immediately following the Keynote Session, the doors to the three-day trade show in Halls D-J open at 9:30 a.m. Show attendees will find more than 650 exhibitors offering new rental products plus more than 300 Show-Only Specials. The show floor will close on Monday at 5 p.m. and be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The ARA Show also offers a variety of networking events such as the ARA Young Professionals Network (YPN) Reception on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fulton Alley, the Canadian Hospitality Reception exclusively for ARA members residing in Canada on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Generations Hall, Regional Receptions for Regions 1-9 on Monday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., the ARAPAC Reception at Marché on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., the Women in Rental Breakfast on Tuesday morning from 7:45 to 9 a.m., and the ARA Foundation Charity Auction and Reception on Tuesday evening from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The networking events will culminate with the Tuesday Night Event at House of Blues New Orleans. In addition to great food and drinks, the evening will feature tarot card readers, fortune tellers, silent disco and country singer Mitchell Tenpenny taking the stage. He is a multi-faceted entertainer: singer, songwriter, producer and performer. Since the release of his debut, three-time platinum-certified No. 1 hit single, “Drunk Me,” he’s set new standards for breakout success in country music.
