Sunbelt Rentals, Fort Mill, S.C., has acquired the equipment rental assets of Elms Equipment Rental, a three-location equipment rental company based in southern California with locations in Brawley, Indio and El Centro, Calif.
“We weren’t for sale when this opportunity arose, but after careful consideration it was the best move for the company, its owners, employees and customers,” said Alan Huber, co-owner, Elms Equipment Rental. “We are very pleased to have sold our equipment rental division to Sunbelt. It is a good fit for our employees and customers alike.”
Elms is a second-generation equipment rental company that Alan and his brother, Mark, purchased from their parents in 2007.
The Huber family will continue to operate its trucking division, aggregate and materials business, its Rubblemaster line of equipment as well as its contracting arm. Sunbelt will take over all three Elms Equipment Rental locations.
