Equipment Depot, Houston, an independently operated material handling and rental equipment source with more than 50 locations nationwide, is celebrating 85 years of serving its customers.

The company said 2024 marks a significant milestone in its history. Prior to Equipment Depot’s rebranding and name change in 1995, the company was formally known as Central Texas Clarklift. In 2000, Pon Holdings, the largest privately held company in the Netherlands, purchased Equipment Depot. It was acquired again in 2019 by Mitsubishi Logisnext North America, which is owned by the world’s third-largest material handling group, Mitsubishi Logisnext. Soon after, Equipment Depot purchased Southern California Material Handling (SCMH), founded in 1939. SCMH became the company’s oldest legacy branch, establishing Equipment Depot’s combined years of serving customers.

“Over the past 85 years, Equipment Depot has become a uniquely diverse and innovative company,” said Anthony Garcia, president of Equipment Depot. “This transformative journey represents years of commitment and passion from so many exceptional individuals. We plan on celebrating our achievement by recognizing the people who continue to make Equipment Depot a leader in the industry — our employees and the customers we serve every day.”

Equipment Depot said it is planning company-wide programs to celebrate its 85 years, such as recognizing employees who live by its core values — “Passion to Perform,” “Trust to Act,” “Act Responsibly,” and “Make it Fun” — and inviting new and existing customers to take advantage of special incentives on products and services as a tribute to the company’s milestones.
