Charles Hewett, president, ABC Equipment Rental, Tulsa, Okla., recently acquired Oklahoma Equipment Sales and Rental, also in Tulsa, allowing the business to better serve its growing customer base.
“A little more than a year ago we realized that we were running out of room in our current location. As we were looking at next steps, I reached out to the owner of Oklahoma Equipment Sales and Rental. His operation would offer us more room as well as the inventory our operation has been expanding into — more large and heavier equipment, such as telehandlers and other earthmoving equipment. After some discussion, we were able to officially close the deal on July 1,” Hewett says.
This purchase offers ABC Equipment Rental two locations in Tulsa, about 5 miles apart — the original location at 2910 E. 15th St., which is on 1.5 acres of land, and the new location at 9222 E. 21st St., which is on a little more than 1 acre of land. It also has expanded the company’s workforce to 17.
Now ABC Equipment Rental can better serve all equipment markets, from the homeowner to the small- to-large contractor, Hewett notes. “We serve all of Oklahoma, primarily the northeast part of the state. As our customers grow their businesses, we are now situated to help them with the inventory that fits their expanding needs. It benefits both our customers and our business,” he says.
