Businesses can still apply for the Employee Retention Tax Credit

U.S. CapitolThe Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) is a refundable credit that businesses could claim on qualified wages, including certain health insurance costs during certain periods of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The ERTC was intended to help businesses impacted by COVID-19 be able to keep employees on the payroll.

While the ERTC has expired, employers that have not yet claimed (or incorrectly claimed) any ERTC may still do so retroactively by filing amended payroll tax returns for the 2020 and 2021 tax years.
