Sunbelt Rentals, Fort Mill, S.C., has acquired Big Sky Rents & Events, a general tool rental business headquartered in Kalispell, Mont. The acquisition was recently announced in Sunbelt Rentals’ quarterly earnings report.
The Big Sky Rents & Events ownership group consists of four members of the Sneed family: Chuck and Becky Sneed, and their two sons Adam and Carson Sneed. Chuck and Becky will retire as part of the transaction. Adam and Carson, who had been running the day-to-day operations of Big Sky, will remain with Sunbelt in similar management roles.
Big Sky Rents
In 2022, the company was named a “Market Mover” by Rental Management with Big Sky recognized as one of the fastest growing equipment rental companies in North America with reported growth of 121.4 percent from 2019 to 2021. In November 2021, the company moved into a new facility in southern Kalispell custom built for Big Sky which will be rebranded as Sunbelt Rentals.
The Stansberry Firm represented Big Sky Rents & Events in the transaction which closed Feb. 22, 2023. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
