Ben Blood, 28, Garden City, Kan., died Nov. 18, 2023. Blood was vice president of Big L Rentals & Sales in Garden City.
Blood began working for independently owned Big L Rentals in 2008 while still in high school. In 2012, the business was acquired by nationwide entities the Volvo Group and BlueLine Rental. Blood departed the business at that time but returned to the industry in 2017 to help launch a new incarnation of Big L Rentals & Sales in Garden City.
In 2022, Big L Rentals & Sales landed on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies. That same year, Blood was named one of Rental Management’s “12 to Watch Under 40.”
Blood is survived by his mother, Julie, and stepfather, Darrell Grubbs; father, Calvin, and stepmother, Tessa Blood; siblings, Sam Blood, Matthew Blood, Caitlynn Elisabeth, Tyler Stutzman, Emily Stutzman, Skycha Klassen, Shelbi and Devin Nolde, and Bryce Grubbs and Alicia Schoonover; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
