The ARA of Iowa recently welcomed two industry professionals to its board of directors.

Remington Lawyer, Star Equipment, Des Moines, Iowa

A member of the equipment rental community for 16 years, Lawyer, who serves as rental manager for Star Equipment, has been in his position for a decade.

Lawyer holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from Iowa State University.

He is a member of the Iowa Concrete Association Workshop Planning Committee, ARA’s Young Professional Network and the Associated Equipment Dealers’ Young Professional Program. From his involvement in industry networking and planning groups like these, it is no surprise what he lists as the most valuable benefit of ARA membership: “Connecting with fellow ARA members and the training programs offered through RentalU,” he says.

Lawyer says that he is ready to put his years of experience to work as a member of his ARA state chapter’s leadership team. “I want to get more involved and utilize my skills for the good of the ARA of Iowa. In addition, I want to learn what ARA products and services are available and how to better utilize them.”

Marko Ivusic, Bobcat of Ames, Ames, Iowa

Ivusic has served in his role as rental manager with Bobcat of Ames for five of the 10 years he has been involved in the equipment rental industry.

He studied corporate wellness at Grand View University, Des Moines, Iowa, and possesses a certification in facility management.

As an ARA of Iowa board member, Ivusic says his goal is to foster open communication between rental store members. “I think the more open we are with each other when it comes to issues within the industry, the more capable we will be in overcoming them together,” he says.

This facilitation of constructive dialogue is in line with what Ivusic describes as the No. 1 value of ARA membership: “Networking — talking to other owners and managers and addressing the obstacles that we all face on an everyday basis, and discussing solutions,” he says.
