By Steve Campbell

April 30, 2023

The International Rental Business Leadership Program is a combined effort between the American Rental Association (ARA) and the Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA) of Australia. This program connects young professionals from the United States and Australia with rental companies in the opposite country. During this time, they’ll learn about the other country’s culture and rental industry while building international relationships.

“ARA and HRIA are dedicated to building relationships and creating educational opportunities,” says Bridget Otten, ARA director of meetings and events. “This three-week program gives young professionals the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally and establish international connections in the equipment and event rental industry. This program bridges cultures, builds global relationships, and creates new leadership opportunities within the equipment and event rental industry.”

Michael Larsen with Larsen’s Air Conditioning Hire, Parkhurst, Queensland, Australia, traveled to the U.S. to participate in the program with CES Power, headquartered in Memphis, Tenn. Watch the video below to hear about Larsen’s experience in the program and in the U.S.

Adam Sneed with Big Sky Rents, Kalispell, Mont., will travel to Australia in the program. He will be connected with Orange Hire, which has locations throughout Australia.

“I just want to be a sponge and soak up all Orange Hire has to offer,” Sneed says. “Just talking to them yesterday sounds like they have a well-rounded itinerary for me to get to experience every aspect of their business. I have always gained so much from walking through other rentals stores or talking to other owners at The ARA Show™. I am so excited to get to work alongside the team at Orange Hire.”
