During The ARA Show™ 2024 in New Orleans, members of the American Rental Association’s (ARA) political action committee (ARAPAC) and their guests gathered for a night of relaxation at the ARAPAC Reception.

The reception, hosted at Marché in the French Quarter, featured tasty cuisine, live music, networking, and the chance for attendees to discuss making a difference in the industry through advocacy efforts.

Jared Medaris, CERP, Expo Events, Fresno, Calif., said, “I think it’s important to get involved and to inform our political leaders about our industry and what our needs are, to hopefully get our voice heard. I love coming together as a group at events like this because sometimes when you’re  at home, you feel like you’re alone. But when we come together as a group, we understand how big our voice can be.”

An appreciation of the ability to join a chorus of voices that can influence change was on the mind of many during the evening.

“It’s really important for us to take advantage of the opportunity to network, and these kinds of events do that. I’m grateful to be able to talk about everybody else’s problems and know that I’m not alone,” said Victor Matta Jr., CERP, Chet’s Rent-All, Warren, Mich.

Rachel O’Brien, ECP-SM, J & F Reddy Rents, St. Louis Park, Minn., said she attended the event to support ARAPAC because rental operators often “don’t have enough time in our own businesses to be watching what’s going on in Washington, D.C. And even, at times, our own state level. ARAPAC has an eye on what’s going on and can help us run our businesses better, more effectively and more economically.”
