Students enrolling at trade schools, community colleges, undergraduate colleges and graduate schools for courses that support a career in the equipment and event rental industry can now apply for a share of $138,000 in scholarships through the ARA Foundation and its affiliate partners.

American Rental Association (ARA) student members, employees in a rental business and/or a manufacturer/supplier operation; and immediate family members (spouse, daughter or son) of the rental business owner may apply for:

  • ARA Foundation Trade School Scholarships
  • ARA Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships
  • ARA Foundation Graduate Scholarships
  • ARA Foundation ARA Student Member Scholarships
  • Affiliate program scholarships

Take a look at the impact the scholarships had on just two of last year’s 43 recipients:

A total of $7,500 was awarded to Lexa Thompson, DeRidderRentals.com, DeRidder, La. “I couldn’t contain my excitement when I got the call that I was chosen again,” says Thompson, a student at Louisiana Tech University. “I am so grateful for the help last year, and I know I’ll walk around campus being thankful throughout this next year as well. These scholarships are making a huge impact on my life, and I am eternally grateful.”

Nathan Bennett, from St. Peters Hardware & Rental, Alton, Ill., and an enrollee at Missouri State University, received a total of $4,500. “To me, the ARA scholarship is an investment in my future and an investment in the rental industry. It pushes me, inspires me and enables me to make a change in the industry for which I have a passion. I can’t wait to prove myself in the next four years by earning a degree in finance that will, hopefully, positively impact my family’s rental business as well as lead to a long career in the rental industry,” he says.
