Hello, everyone. I’m Kelly Brincheski from Collective Event Rentals in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and a member of the ARA of Canada Task Force. It’s October and that means there are a lot of industry happenings to take note of even as we continue to crank out equipment and event rentals at a rapid pace.
First, I want to thank all of you who recently took action on approving the nominees who will join the ARA Board of Directors next year. As a member-driven association, it’s important that we take part in this process each year. Robert H. Pedersen from A Tool Shed in Santa Cruz, Calif., will become ARA president-elect and Marti Wenzler of Chicago-headquartered Lawson Products will become an ARA associate member director next spring. Please join me in welcoming them to our association’s leadership team.
Another outcome of this year’s ARA board approval process is that I will be stepping up to serve as your ARA Region Ten director come the spring. It’s such an incredible honor to have received your vote of confidence to take on this role. Angie Venekamp from Rental Network has done such a fabulous job for the past three years and it will be challenging to succeed her, but I pledge to do my best in being your conduit to ARA national. I can’t wait to get to know many of you a whole lot better when my term begins next year!
Last month, the ARA of Canada hosted its golf outing in Acheson, Alberta. I have heard that it was a big hit, with several dozen people representing many companies taking part. That’s awesome and it encourages us to continue planning events like this. Please watch your email and the ARA Calendar of Events for what’s coming up near you and plan to take part — you’ll be glad you did!
Things are about to kick into gear in a big way for The ARA Show™ 2024 (Feb. 18-21) in New Orleans. Registration for the show opens Oct. 17. You’ll want to register as early as you can not only to take advantage of the lower incentive rates, but also to make sure you secure tickets to some of the limited-capacity events that tend to sell out. Readers of Rental Management will know that in recent issues, the magazine has profiled a variety of rental software providers. The series has been insightful as it allows vendors to discuss their software platforms and how their products benefit rental operations.
