Vermeer vacuum excavatorThe 40,000-lb. VXT600 vacuum excavator from Vermeer, Pella, Iowa, features a 12-cu.-yd. elongated spoil tank design and 1,200-gal. freshwater tank capacity. A new design allows for even weight distribution when traveling while maximizing the volume of material hauled, the company says. It also has a low profile with a height (with boom) of 12.25 ft. The machine features a vacuum system that is powered by a 6,400-cfm Helical tri-lobe Jurop blower. With a 23-ft. boom, an 8-in. diameter dig hose, a vacuum level of 27 inHg and a water pump that produces 10 gpm of flow at 3,000 psi, the machine is designed to dig quickly and deeply. In addition, a boom dig hose can be stowed with the dig tube attached to minimize setup time between digs.
