In the June/July 2023 issue, Rental Management revealed its 2023 Market Movers — a listing of the equipment and event rental industry’s fastest-growing independent businesses, measured by revenue growth.
Two companies from the American Rental Association’s (ARA) Region One — which includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont — were among this year’s Market Movers:
Durante Rentals, New Rochelle, N.Y.
Kenneth Cockrill, Durante Rentals
Established in 2009, Durante Rentals rents and sells equipment to customers working in general construction, homebuilding, facilities maintenance and structural engineering. Durante Rentals was among the Market Mover companies in the category of $10 million or more in annual equipment rental revenue. The company was shown to have experienced a 43 percent jump in revenue between 2020 ($24.1 million) and 2022 ($34.5 million).
“Durante Rentals has spent the last several years dedicated to enhancing the core elements that have made us the successful company we are today,” says Kenneth Cockrill, CEO, Durante Rentals. “We have upgraded our safety procedures, streamlined phone systems, launched our new website, strengthened our corporate management team with industry veterans and reimagined our branch locations.”
Boosting facility capacity and expanding to reach new markets has also been part of Durante Rentals’ strategy.
“We have increased the size and capacity of our two largest locations and to better serve our local partners and the greater New York City and Manhattan markets, we added a brand-new facility in Astoria, Queens, near LaGuardia airport,” Cockrill says. “In May 2023 we completed our first major acquisition and have expanded our footprint into Delaware. We now have four locations that serve the Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia markets in addition to our existing coverage in the tri-state area. Durante Rentals d/b/a Iron Source, a Delaware based general rental company, will continue to operate under the legacy brand for the foreseeable future.”
Cockrill adds that as Durante Rentals moves forward, “we remain committed to enhancing our systems to provide an even better customer service experience.”

PEAK Event Services, Woburn, Mass.
Jennifer Gullins, PEAK Event Services
With more than 70 years of experience in the event industry, Peterson Party Center combined with Rentals Unlimited in 2016 to form PEAK Event Services, which provides event rentals and tenting to customers across New England. The company was included on the 2023 Market Movers list in the category of those companies with more than $3 million in annual event rental revenue/more than $250k in year one (between 2020 and 2022). PEAK Event Services was listed in the group with revenues of $20 million (2020) and $92 million (2022) — an increase of 360 percent.
Jennifer Gullins, PEAK Event Services president/CEO, attributes much of the organization’s growth to a series of recent investments the company has made.
“PEAK Event Services has significantly invested in enhancing our infrastructure to accommodate our growth since the pandemic, not only in the Northeast region but also beyond with the addition of our Palm Beach, Fla., office this year,” she says. “We have expanded our facilities and implemented automation in several fulfillment processes to effectively meet the increasing demands of our valued customers. PEAK Event Services also experienced an evolution in 2023 with the launch of its new luxury linen and tabletop accessory brand.
