Outgoing Region Seven Director Andrew Heesacker, Arvada Rent-Alls, Arvada, Colo., left, presented Herb White the Leadership Impact Award for the region.

Herb White, president, Continental Divide Marketing, Golden, Colo., was honored with the Leadership Impact Award for Region Seven during The ARA Show™ in New Orleans. White, who serves as associate member director on the ARA of Colorado board, was honored for his leadership that benefited Colorado and members in the state during the past year.

When White learned he had been selected for this award, he was taken aback. “I was surprised. I didn’t know I had been nominated. I am very honored that the board chose me to receive this award,” he says.

White was recognized during the Feb. 19 Regional Receptions, which were sponsored by Barreto Manufacturing, Ditch Witch, ERC Provider, Point of Rental Software, RubbleCrusher, Sullair — a Hitachi Global Air Power Brand, and Trackunit.

White, who is an independent manufacturer representative (IMR) for 18 different manufacturers that cater to the general tool market, has served twice in this role on the Colorado state chapter board. His first time was from 2003-2007. His latest service began in 2019 and continues to this day.

It has become a family tradition to be involved with the ARA, White notes. “My dad was very involved in the ARA. I really like this customer group. I am close to the members, and I want to see the group prosper — see the networking with members and the education continue,” he says, adding, “We have seen more interest and participation with members, too.”

Seeing more interest as well as the ability to get to know his clients outside of just selling to them is particularly satisfying for White. As an IMR, he says, he is often serving the third generation of rental store owners. “ARA is like a family. They are a good group of people and a close group. That is why I serve, because I just want to help as much as I can,” he says.

He encourages others to get involved. “You get to see the members one-on-one in a social atmosphere. For rental operators, it is a great way to become educated,” he says.
