Students enrolling at trade schools, community colleges, undergraduate colleges and graduate schools for courses that support a career in the equipment and event rental industry can now apply for a share of $138,000 in scholarships through the ARA Foundation and its affiliate partners.
Employees in a rental business and/or a manufacturer/supplier operation; immediate family members (spouse, daughter or son) of the rental business owner; and American Rental Association (ARA) student members may apply for:
- ARA Foundation Trade School Scholarships
- ARA Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships
- ARA Foundation Graduate Scholarships
- ARA Foundation ARA Student Member Scholarships
- Affiliate program scholarships
The scholarships include the Ron Marshall Scholarship (two $750 scholarships) that is specific to ARA’s Region Two, which includes Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
Take a look at the impact the scholarships had on the recipients who received last year’s Ron Marshall Scholarship:
Olivia Limberger, White Glove Rentals, Aberdeen, Md., who also received an ARA Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship worth $3,500 for a total of $4,250, said, “My goal is to expand White Glove Rentals into other regions. To accomplish this goal, I must first obtain an education. The ARA Foundation’s commitment to the young rental players does not go unnoticed — it is paramount in the longevity and success of the rental industry.”
Tyler Hurst, Power Pro Rents, Ringoes, N.J., who also received an ARA Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship worth $2,000 for a total of $2,750, said, “I have been a part-time employee working at an equipment/rental dealership after school and summers for the past several years, saving to go to college. While at Millersville University, I will be studying construction management. Taking what experience I already have and combining that with new ideas, I am confident that I can contribute to the ongoing success of the rental industry. Thank you for investing in the next generation.”
Other ARA Region Two-based students who received scholarships last year include:
