The ARA of Canada is hosting a golf tournament at the Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton, Ontario, on June 27.
This tournament marks the first ARA golf event in Ontario, and the second tournament in Canada. Last year, the first outing was hosted in Alberta, with another tournament scheduled there in September 2024.
“Right from the onset, we were excited about the potential of the first ever ARA of Canada golf tournament in Eastern Canada,” explains Gord Ellis, Ontario Golf Tournament co-organizer and president/CEO at Ellis Management Group, Burlington, Ontario. “Our excitement for this event was matched by the immediate support from industry. Our goal for golfers started at 72, then moved to 100. Soon thereafter, our target of registered ‘duffers’ was revised to a shotgun start of 144 participants. We are less than two months away from the big date, and there are limited spots left for golfers to date.”
Sponsorships have been coming in at the same rate.
“We were looking forward to working with the ARA staff on this event and they have not disappointed,” says Dean Nasato, Ontario Golf Tournament co-organizer and head of sales – Canada region at Western Global, Troy, Mich. “Although many of the rental businesses are under-staffed and very busy this time of year, they saw the importance of it and have embraced the tournament wholeheartedly.”
The ARA members in Canada immediately recognized this event as an opportunity to network with other rental industry leaders, rekindle and build relationships, lie about their golf scores, and raise funds to support the ARA of Canada education scholarships.

This golf tournament signifies the first of what will hopefully be many ARA of Canada events in Eastern Canada, where its members come together to celebrate our great industry.
