Welcome to 2023, American Rental Association (ARA) Region Seven members!
The new year looks like it will be a good, productive one with plenty of rentals and great events planned by both the ARA of Arizona and the ARA of Colorado.
A wonderful way to make sure you are prepared for the coming year is to attend The ARA Show™ in Orlando, Feb. 11-15. It is going to be great — all the networking, 20-plus hours of education (including the two new Saturday options), the buying and more. This is a show you don’t want to miss. And, Colorado’s own Jim Ziegler, retired owner of Rental City in Boulder, will be inducted into the Rental Hall of Fame, ARA’s highest honor.
The past few months have been a whirlwind for our region. We hosted the ARA Women in Rental and Young Professional Network conferences this past November in Scottsdale. They were awesome. We had good representation from those in our region at these events. In addition, state chapter leaders also attended the ARA Leadership Conference in Chicago, which was another valuable networking event in which ARA of Arizona President Maureen Harkness was honored with the 2021 Leadership Impact Award.
In addition, our state chapters were busy hosting plenty of educational and social events this past year, with the ARA of Colorado just concluding 2022 with a very successful holiday gathering. There were nearly 100 people there, including me. It was a blast. Look forward to more educational and networking events this year. You can gain so much by connecting with your rental peers and receiving education close to home. Take advantage of it.
As you may have noticed, this newsletter is being offered to you in a new format — a more user-friendly version that leads you to the new-and-improved Rental Management website for industry news. To help you stay connected with your rental colleagues and events happening in your state and region, these newsletters will be arriving in your inbox every month, with a rotation of special guests providing the welcome message. Enjoy it as you stay in the know.
This newsletter is just one of so many resources ARA offers. On the educational front, there is RentalU. If you haven’t looked lately, you should. The folks from my operation, including me, are taking advantage of ARA’s Certified programs for sales, service and the updated Professional Driver Education Program. That is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the educational content ARA is providing, and more offerings keep coming. Check it out and see how these resources can help you.
On the hiring front, ARA offers the Job Portal. Members can have five free postings. That is a deal you just can’t pass up, so try it out so you will be ready for the busy season that will be here before you know it.
Take some time during this slower season to check out all that ARA offers. Go to ARArental.org and see how you can benefit.
Best to all this year and hope to see you at the show.
