Hello, American Rental Association (ARA) Region Six members. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Steve Houser from U.S. Rents-It in Jefferson City, Mo. I’ll be your ARA Region Six director for the next three years, and I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to communicate directly with so many of you across our region of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and the Dakotas.
As I write this, I have just returned from The ARA Show™ in New Orleans. My wife and I enjoyed talking to our vendors and seeing new products.
We were busy at the show with exciting programs such as EventsU, the ARA Industry Awards Lunch, the ARA of Minnesota’s off-site social outing, motivating seminars, keynote speaker John Taffer (host of “Bar Rescue”), the Women in Rental Breakfast, the Region Six Reception and listening to our executive rental leadership. What a fun-packed week with like-minded individuals in our industry! Be sure to check out the recap of The ARA Show 2024 — with some on-site comments from a few of our Region Six members — elsewhere in this issue.
If you have not attended the show before, I would highly encourage you to do so. Networking with peers, vendors and ARA staff has helped us grow our business. Plans are underway for the 2025 show in Las Vegas, which will be held Jan. 29 – Feb. 1. Book your hotel now here.
My position as your new ARA Region Six director starts now and I could not be more excited! Doug Haas from Crown Rental in Burnsville, Minn., served in this position for the last three years and he did an outstanding job. He taught me so much during his term and I am looking to continue his success. Thank you for the opportunity to succeed Doug as your conduit to ARA national. Your ARA state chapter board presidents and their board members are working hard to provide great events this year. As ARA members, please take the opportunity to attend as many as you can. These are great networking opportunities to build relationships and learn more about your industry. Keep an eye on your email for invitations or visit the calendar of events to stay in the loop.
