XL Specialized Trailers, Manchester, Iowa, has received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification for design, manufacture and service of engineered and customized trailers for applications in the heavy haul trucking industry. XL was audited by Eagle Certification Group through an on-site evaluation of the efficacy of their processes and systems.
ISO 9001:2015 is a standard developed by ISO that sets out the requirements for a quality management system. The standard is based on the following seven principles: customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making and relationship management.
“We wanted a way to show people we are capable and consistent with what we are building and providing to them,” said Bruce Kopf, director of quality at XL Specialized Trailers.
