Sunbelt Rentals, Fort Mill, S.C., has acquired Lift Works, St. Charles, Ill. The acquisition took place effective Jan. 12, 2023, and was publicly announced last week in Sunbelt’s quarterly financial results report.
Lift Works, which was founded in 2003 and has an additional facility in Rockford, Ill., offers aerial lift-focused solutions to customers in the greater Chicagoland market and throughout the broader Midwest. Lift Works offers equipment rentals, sales and aftermarket services and parts to more than one thousand small and mid-sized contractors.
“We are excited to pursue Lift Works’ next phase of growth with Sunbelt as our partner. They bring meaningful resources and equipment rental experience to the table that will help Lift Works better serve its customers going forward,” said Marty Starck, owner, Lift Works.
“In contemplating this transaction, my goal was to find the best new partner to provide Lift Works with the experience and capital necessary to continue its strong trajectory of growth, while supporting the existing management team and employee base with personal and professional growth opportunities,” Starck added. “Sunbelt is the right partner to accomplish this goal. Sunbelt has been a leading player in the equipment rental space for decades, is constantly evaluating new growth channels and understands the importance of preserving Lift Works’ culture and customer service.”
Lift Works’ senior management team will continue to lead the company.
TM Capital Corp. served as the exclusive financial advisor to Lift Works in connection with the transaction. Perkins Coie served as legal advisor to Lift Works and Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein served as legal advisor to Sunbelt Rentals. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
