ARA of Iowa members at Smash ParkOn Oct. 15, 2022, members of the Iowa rental community and their families gathered for an afternoon of games, football, networking and fun in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Members and their guests met up at Smash Park, where entertainment is taken to a new level with activities like giant scrabble, arcade games, shuffleboard, lawn games and more. Attendees also took in the Iowa State Cyclones-Texas Longhorns football game, and while the Longhorns came out on top in the contest, everyone still had a great time.

“Good times were had by all,” says Joe Cox, rental manager, Capital City Equipment Co., Des Moines, Iowa. “The ARA of Iowa went all out on this event and rented the entire upstairs for us. There were a multitude of games, a food buffet and our own bar/drink station. It was a top-notch event. Smash Park had eight to 10 TVs going, so all the football junkies could get their fix while others played games. My favorite part was being able to bond over football and games with my rental peers.”

In addition to the fun, participants enjoyed a grill-out buffet, and several lucky winners went home with prizes like $100 Visa gift cards.

“I had a great time at the Smash Park event. I was able to get around to talk with most of the groups throughout the night — it was a good area reserved to host our group and plenty big for what we needed,” says Brad Croat, key accounts manager/marketing manager, Vermeer Iowa & N. Missouri, and an ARA of Iowa board member, who adds that his favorite part of the night was probably “whooping my 12-year-old son in both Connect Four and Jenga. But as a first-time participant, I enjoyed mingling and putting names and faces together.”
