SkyjackSkyjack raises money for Crime Stoppers, Guelph, Ontario, Canada, a division of Linamar Corp., opened its Guelph parking lot on Saturday, Sept. 30, for the Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW) Shredding Event, raising $9,950. The event saw 125 cars for the drive-through event where for $10 a box, participants could have personal documents safely and securely shredded by an onsite Wasteco truck, complete with certificates of destruction offered to those who need it for reporting purposes. With Skyjack’s support, all proceeds went directly to the non-profit organization. Incorporated in 1988, CSGW combines the best efforts of the media, the community and the police in the fight against crime.

This year’s amount grew from last year’s previous high of $2,977.

“The CSGW board of directors is delighted by the outstanding response to this annual event, and grateful for the support once again of Skyjack,” said Sarah Bowers-Peter, program coordinator, CSGW. “Community partners such as Skyjack ensure Crime Stoppers can be an effective tool for the community to report crime anonymously and confidentially. This year’s Guelph Shredding Event set a record for the amount of funds raised for the program, ensuring we can operate and pay Tipster rewards.”

This is Skyjack’s fourth year hosting the annual event. Earlier this year, CSGW recognized Skyjack for their support of the organization with the 2022 Cornerstone Award.

“We look forward every year to the CSGW shredding event,” said Malcom Early, vice president of marketing, Skyjack. “We have a strong relationship with CSGW and believe in the work they are doing for our community. The Skyjack team is happy to support and lend our space for the cause.”
