ARA InsuranceAn employee making a delivery for a rental store pulled around the building and backed up to the dock.  His co-worker got out of the truck and helped guide him to the dock and motioned for him to stop. The two employees made the delivery and got back into the truck to head back to the rental store.

When they pulled into the lot they noticed road construction, so upon leaving the location, they decided to exit on the other side. They noticed a bar across the exit. It was the kind from which you typically would see a sign hanging down telling you how high the clearance was. The clearance part of the sign was missing so they continued forward, pretty sure they would clear the bar but, not positive, so they moved slowly.

As they passed under the bar, they heard a loud metal on metal sound, and they came to a sudden stop. They were too tall to fit under the bar and the top corner of the box truck had been torn away.

They should have gotten out of the truck to determine if they could fit under the bar. They did not, so now there is damage to their truck and the bar. When in doubt, take a different route!
