There are so many memorable experiences that occur at The ARA Show™ — the numerous educational seminars, the trade show, all the events and the networking. One that stands out is when those in the industry are honored for their dedication and service. This year’s show in Orlando was no exception. See who was honored in Region Nine.

Leadership Impact Award: Jared Medaris, CERP, Expo Events, Fresno, Calif.

Medaris, CERP, president of Expo Events, has been an active volunteer, first at the national level and then at the state level. He became involved in 2017 when he served on the American Rental Association’s (ARA) Party & Event Services Shared Interest Group. In 2018, he served on the ARA Young Professionals Committee. Then, in 2019, he joined the ARA of California board. While still active on the state board, he joined ARA’s Event Rental Advocacy Work Group in 2021. And in 2022 he became president of the state chapter, a role he continues to fill.

For his service, Medaris has been recognized in various ways. He received the ARA President’s Image Award in 2016 and was named one of the “12 to watch under 40” by Rental Management in 2018. At the show in February, he received the Leadership Impact Award for Region Nine.

Receiving this award is “an absolute honor,” he says. “I have been actively volunteering with ARA for about eight years now and I have always admired the recipients of this award for their service to the rental community. Those recipients I have known personally have made an impact on my career, even just by being a good example to me. Their service has been a motivating factor for me to stay involved with the association.”

While “humbled to receive this honor,” Medaris says there are many who deserve credit for it. “I want to give credit to those in my own company who support my passion for being involved with the ARA, my peers in the industry that encourage me and my wife for putting up with all the industry talk at home. I couldn’t do it all on my own, that’s for sure. For example, as the board president of the ARA of California, I work with a great board of volunteers who are actively involved in getting things accomplished. I certainly don’t want to be a credit taker because we accomplish a lot by working together. The same goes to say for the other committees and work groups that I’ve been a part of with the ARA. I love working alongside great people.”
