People on the move: Stanley Black & Decker; Thunder Creek Equipment

Stanley Black & Decker, New Britain, Conn.: Chris Nelson has been named chief operating officer of the company and executive vice president and president of tools & outdoor, effective June 14, 2023. Nelson joins the company from Carrier Corp. and brings more than 25 years of experience in general management, product development and innovation and growth transformation. He will report to Donald Allan Jr., president and CEO, Stanley Black & Decker.  

Thunder Creek Equipment, Pella, Iowa: Wes Watkins has been named new territory sales manager for the southeastern U.S. Watkins will cover Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. He has spent the last 15 years serving the construction and earthmoving industries in these states in a variety of sales and sales leadership roles for major manufacturers and equipment dealers.
