ARA of Minnesota meetingGathering ideas for strengthening their business was the motivator for attendees who participated in the networking event hosted at Great Northern Equipment (GNE) in Rogers, Minn., on Nov. 10, 2022.

Like-minded Minnesota rental professionals had the opportunity to enjoy dinner, drinks and discussion on the challenges they are facing in their businesses today. Also featured was a presentation from Scott Anselm, American Rental Association (ARA) senior account specialist, equipment segment, who highlighted how to utilize ARA’s education, training and safety resources.

“For a new member to ARA and new to the tent rental business, I thought [Anselm’s presentation] was excellent,” says Mike Henle, owner, Twin Cities Tent and Event Rental, Eden Prairie, Minn.

Scott Anselm, ARA senior account specialist, equipment segment, delivered a presentation on ARA benefits at the meeting hosted at GNE.

John Hedges, director, business development, Medart, Arnold, Mo., and a past member of the ARA of Minnesota board of directors attended the event and while he works on the supplier side of the industry, he says he still found value in the discussion of ARA benefits. “Scott did a great job highlighting the many benefits that membership offers. There is something for each size of store. For the small ones, the credit card processing, legal assistance and job board are fantastic ways to get maximum member benefits. All rental stores can benefit from ARA Insurance and the health coverage program,” he says.

Henle says the combined impact of the presentation and interaction with industry peers will draw him to future ARA of Minnesota events. “I learned about what the ARA has to offer and met several quality owners who I started networking with. I’m looking forward to being a part of the ARA and meeting more new members and owners,” he says.

Prize giveaways adding up to more than $9,000 in value also were part of the festivities, courtesy of GNE and its suppliers.
