Bob Marshall, owner, Northwest Rental Center, Richland, Wash., became the newest member of the ARA of Washington board of directors at the conclusion of the state chapter’s board elections in December.

Although he has served in his present role for just two years, Marshall has been involved in the equipment rental industry for 25. Outside of his professional experience in the industry, his volunteer record includes board membership on the West Richland Chamber of Commerce, volunteer firefighter service and activity with the Kiwanis organization.

Associated with his past volunteer service, Marshall has been recognized as Firefighter of the Year (Benton County Fire Dist. No. 4) and Outstanding Volunteer for the West Richland Chamber of Commerce.

When asked what American Rental Association (ARA) benefit he appreciates most, Marshall places peer-to-peer interaction at the top of the list, and it is this value that inspires him as he sets out on his state chapter board service.

“I have always enjoyed networking with other rental operators along with dealers and vendors. Over the years it has always been nice to get away from the day-to-day and discuss with peers the different challenges and successes. I also like that the ARA is constantly finding ways to improve or make things easier in the industry. My goal as an ARA of Washington board member is to network more with other rental professionals and learn while bringing my experience to help facilitate growth in the industry. I look forward to the opportunity to serve others,” Marshall says.
