Terry Kovarik, director, fleet and merchandising for Mooresville, N.C.-based Lowe’s Home Improvement, became the newest member of the ARA of South Carolina board of directors at the conclusion of the state chapter’s annual board elections in December.

While Kovarik has been in his role with Lowe’s Home Improvement for just three years, he has served in the rental industry on and off for more than 30. “I’ve worked at Copley Tool Rental, Home Depot Rental and Compact Power Equipment,” he says.

“I manage and direct the lineup of fleet and related merchandising for the tool rental program in North and South Carolina,” Kovarik says of his role with Lowe’s Home Improvement.

Outside of the rental industry, Kovarik owns T&L Contracting and Southern Home Inspections; he has been a licensed pilot with an Airframe and Powerplant Certificate for more than 20 years; and has been a licensed real estate agent, commercial real estate, for more than 12 years.

Kovarik’s volunteer experience has included volunteer officer service with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Dogwood Church Men’s Group.

Within the American Rental Association (ARA), Kovarik says he most values resources involving “training and networking, and the ARA staff that are always willing to help.”

As an ARA of South Carolina board member, Kovarik says his primary goals are to “grow my network list, gain more knowledge about the industry and share my experience with others.”
