Financial results: Caterpillar; Cummins; Generac Holdings; Manitou Group; Toromont; Xylem

Caterpillar, Irving, Texas, reported third quarter 2023 sales and revenues of $16.8 billion, a 12 percent increase compared with $15.0 billion in the third quarter of 2022. For the first nine months of 2023, sales and revenues were $50.0 billion compared to $42.8 billion during the same time last year.

Cummins, Columbus, Ind., earned $8.4 billion in revenue during the 2023 third quarter, up 15 percent compared to $7.3 billion the year before. Total revenue for the first nine months was $25.5 billion, up from $20.3 billion in the first nine months of 2022.

Generac Holdings, Waukesha, Wis., reported $1.07 billion in net sales during the 2023 third quarter, a 2 percent decrease compared to $1.09 billion during the 2022 third quarter. Net sales for the first nine months of 2023 were $2.96 billion, compared to $3.52 billion the year prior.

Manitou Group, Ancenis, France, earned €656 million (US$696.6 million) in sales during the 2023 third quarter, a 14 percent increase compared to €575 million (US$610.6 million) in the 2022 third quarter. During the first nine months of 2023, sales were €2.1 billion (US$2.2 billion), a 26 percent increase compared to €1.6 billion (US$1.7 billion) last year.

Toromont, Toronto, earned $1.174 billion in revenue during the 2023 third quarter, up 8 percent compared to $1.086 billion the year before. Revenue for the first nine months of 2023 was $3.395 billion compared to $2.986 billion the year before.

Xylem, Rye Brook, N.Y., earned $2.1 billion in the third quarter 2023 compared to $1.4 billion the year before. Revenue for the first nine months of 2023 was $5.2 billion compared to $4.0 billion the year before.
