Equipment Depot, Houston, an independently-operated material handling and rental source company, announced that employee Jiram Pelayo ranked in the top 10 while also achieving the highest score on the Jungheinrich® Order Picker skills test at the Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas Master Technician Challenge.

The Master Technician Challenge is comprised of technicians who received the top 20 highest-ranked scores from an earlier qualifier. The 20 finalists are invited to the Logisnext Training Center in Houston, where they compete for more than $10,000 in shared prizes during a two-day skills event.

Participants are presented with 10 challenge stations designed to test their knowledge and skill levels on a variety of material handling products. The goal of the Master Technician Challenge is to promote technician training for the Logisnext dealer network and is open to all dealer technicians who currently hold a Master Technician Certification across North and South America.

“It was exciting to apply my product knowledge. This experience will definitely transfer to my work environment and my customers’ jobs,” Pelayo said. “The event was challenging but an incredible opportunity. It was thrilling to go head-to-head with the best technicians in our industry.”

Equipment Depot President Anthony Garcia said, “We couldn’t be prouder to see Jiram’s name on the top 10 list. Jay continues to challenge himself and is passionate about providing the best service to our customers. Company-wide, we will continue providing the highest level of training to our technicians and help them achieve their personal and professional goals.”
