BOMAG tour highlights South Carolina industry networking event

by Brock Huffstutler

BOMAGAmerican Rental Association (ARA) members in South Carolina were treated to a unique behind-the-scenes look at BOMAG Americas’ corporate facility in Ridgeway, S.C., on Dec. 7, 2022.

BOMAG, a worldwide supplier of soil and asphalt compaction and roadbuilding products, hosted the event that included dinner, a tour of its facility and plenty of time for rental professionals to network and mingle.

The event served as an opportunity for attendees to gain a better understanding of BOMAG — which has a staff of 2,500 employees supporting a global dealer network of more than 400 dealers — and learn about the broad range of product segments the manufacturer supports.

Attendee and brand-new ARA of South Carolina board member Terry Kovarik, director – tool rental fleet with Mooresville, N.C.-headquartered Lowe’s Home Improvement, says the trip to meet with peers while seeing first-hand how a world market leader operates was time well spent. “The BOMAG facility was outstanding and impressive in that fact it supplies the entire North American customer base. Getting a behind-the-scenes tour was very informative for my Lowe’s fleet team,” he says.

Kovarik adds that the event also was a great opportunity to get to know members of the equipment rental community. “It is always educational to get together with rental industry leaders and get other point of views,” he says. “To be able to talk through common issues that everyone has to deal with helps the industry as a whole. This event was great to speak with other members as well as the BOMAG team on current and future product needs.”
