Family-owned Arvada Rent-Alls, with locations in Arvada and Littleton, Colo., will mark its 60th anniversary of serving the area’s contractor and homeowner markets with an open house from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at its Arvada store.

Founded by Art Tidwell in 1963, Arvada Rent-Alls started as a small rental business, initially serving primarily the homeowner side. Over the years, the company grew and expanded its inventory, attracting small-, medium- and large-size contractors in addition to its homeowner clientele.

Luke Heesacker, who started with Arvada Rent-Alls in 1971 after being a faithful customer, purchased the business from Tidwell in 1986 with two business partners — Dave Erickson and Randy Engstrom. In 2015, Heesacker bought out his partners. Heesacker’s son, Andrew, who joined the business in 2013, purchased the business from his father in 2020.

Andrew, ECP-SM, who serves as president/CEO, and the team at Arvada Rent-Alls have followed in the tradition set by Tidwell and his father of making it their mission to “listen to our customers. We try to make sure we are being as efficient as possible, but what really matters is what the customer needs — being empathetic and putting ourselves in their shoes. We actively listen to see what our customers want as far as equipment, service, timeliness of the delivery, etc.,” he says.

Because of that, the operation has a loyal customer base. “We have a lot of longtime customers. Some have been with us 30 or 40 years. I hear a lot that our customers say they remember coming here with their dad in the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s. It is fun to be part of that, and we are thrilled to celebrate our 60th anniversary and to have been a part of this community for so long. Our company’s success has been built through the years with a lot of hard work and dedication from all levels of our store teams. It’s been an honor for all of us to move the company forward through the last six decades, especially through the challenges of the business environment,” says Andrew, who serves as American Rental Association (ARA) Region Seven director.

Arvada Rent-Alls has been involved in many national projects, trainings with ARA and has sponsored community organizations such as local sports teams, high schools, trade schools, nonprofits, churches and scouting programs. It also has been active in community events, on boards and with other organizations.

During the open house, participants will enjoy live music, food, giveaways and special discounts on rentals.
