ARA Women in Rental conference 2022The American Rental Association (ARA) Women in Rental and Young Professional Network (YPN) conferences, held concurrently at The Scott Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz., Nov. 29-30, offered just what attendees were looking for — valuable networking, inspiration and insight into how to bring their best selves to both their personal and professional lives.

The two conferences offered combined receptions, meals and optional social activities, including hiking up McDowell Mountain, taking a pedal bike tour of historic Scottsdale, having a yoga experience, shopping or taking part in a “giving back” project. Women in Rental Conference attendees were able to help a local women’s domestic abuse shelter and YPN Conference attendees assisted active military abroad.

Dynamic speakers led interactive sessions that offered thought-provoking perspectives and problem-solving skill sets:

  • At the Women in Rental Conference, Sara Frasca presented “The 3 Core Mindsets of Innovation.” Her workshop armed attendees with new, practical tools and fresh ideas for tackling problems and seizing opportunities.
  • At the YPN Conference, Galen Emanuele presented “Transforming Impact: Next Level Leadership, Culture & Feedback.” His workshop showed attendees how to be effective leaders and impact others.

Attendees at both conferences left with new ideas, connections, resources and valuable tools. See what those from Region Ten had to say about their conference experiences:

“It was such a wonderful time being able to attend the YPN/Women in Rental event this year,” says Kelly Brincheski, office manager, Collective Event Rentals, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. “It’s always so amazing being able to catch up and connect with others in this industry. Every time I’m lucky enough to be around these groups, I always leave inspired and in awe of the people and community we have.”

ARA Women in Rental conference 2022Sylvia Garneau, co-owner, Redi-Quip, Airdrie, Alberta, Canada, says that for her and her business partner, Natasha Roach, the Women in Rental conference was “momentous. We got the sense of community and support from the other members. All too often we get caught up in work, which can sometimes feel like we’re taking on the world all by ourselves. Meeting with the women at the conference reminded us that we’re not alone, and there’s a whole community out there supporting us.”

“Our guest speaker was amazing. Also, having us work together in groups assisted us with building relationships with the members of our group; we were able to take ideas and apply them to our work situations. We got to meet some great people in the mixers and hear their perspective on the industry, along with what they do in it. Giving back to the women’s shelter was awesome — a good way to give a little bit of hope to the families that utilize this service and may one day inspire someone to reach for the stars,” Garneau says.

Garneau adds that the warm location also was appealing. “We’re from Calgary, so we got some awesome weather while we were at the conference. The venue was within walking distance to some great amenities. I personally would consider going back for a vacation in the city and staying at that hotel,” she says.

“Thank you to ARA for putting on another wonderful conference and bringing everyone together,” Brincheski says.
