Just in time for the close of the year, the ARA of Virginia hosted a meeting designed to help rental stores navigate complex tax bills that have been signed into law in recent years and get ready for their end-of-the-year tax strategies.

The presentation, hosted on Nov. 30, 2022, at Rent-E-Quip, Colonial Heights, Va., featured Kevin Stewart, CPA, Stewart & Company, who detailed:

  • How to develop a valuable tax plan
  • Methods to potentially save money
  • Prepare for possible tax code updates
  • Changes via the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Employment Retention Credit (ERC)

“We will definitely be looking into the COVID-related Employee Retention Credit to see if we can benefit from this program,” says Tina Behnke Spencer, customer experience officer, AirPac Rents, Front Royal, Va., and ARA of Virginia secretary.

Attendees also enjoyed local food truck fare while visiting with rental peers and had the opportunity to tour the host’s facility.

“Learning with and from our rental peers is always the best part of any ARA event. And it’s invaluable to be able to tour other locations to get a look behind the scenes of successful rental stores,” Behnke says.
