Contributions from those in the industry allow the ARA Foundation to put its mission — to provide opportunities for the equipment and event rental industry and the communities they serve — into action.

For their generous support of the ARA Foundation, Event Source, Cleveland; C&T Rentals & Sales, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and The Rent-It Store, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, were recognized with one of the philanthropic organization’s highest honors — the 1976 Club Award.

The 1976 Club Award is presented in honor of the year the ARA Foundation was established. This award goes to those who have contributed a total of $5,000 or more to the ARA Foundation in a single year. This year’s awards were presented at the Industry Awards Lunch on Feb. 12 during The ARA Show™ in Orlando.

“From my early days in the industry, ARA [American Rental Association] leaders were helpful in navigating the ins and outs of our industry. This inspired me to be a leader and give back to the organization and industry. As a former ARA officer, I feel my contributions helped the association in many ways. Now that my board service is over, I want to continue to help develop and bring good things to those who are just entering our industry or those in need — both are functions of the ARA Foundation’s scholarship and disaster relief programs. My contributions ensure those programs are supported long into the future,” said John Bibbo, CERP, president of Event Source, who accepted his organization’s recognition.

Kelly Brincheski, office manager, Collective Event Rentals, Winnipeg, Manitoba — the event rental division of C&T Rentals & Sales — accepted the award on behalf of her company. “Having been involved with the ARA as a volunteer for many years, I have seen firsthand the great things that the ARA Foundation has done to assist the rental industry. It’s wonderful to be able to give back to the association after all the knowledge and assistance I’ve received from it, and to know that [our contributions are] going to help others in the industry the same way it’s helped me over the years,” Brincheski said.

Mike Broadfoot, vice president of The Rent-It Store, accepted the award on behalf of his organization. Doron Broadfoot, the company’s president and a past 1976 Club Award recipient, has said that the reason his company gives to the ARA Foundation is “very simple: This industry has been so good to our company and all of our team that when we were looking for a way to give back, it just seemed that the ARA Foundation provided the best conduit and overall fit for us. It is our privilege and pleasure to try to help in our own little way.”
