Hello American Rental Association (ARA) Region Nine members.
What a show! The ARA Show™ is such an amazing experience that brings all of us together to enjoy what we love — rentals! I personally love networking with my peers. It is so nice to reconnect with old friends and develop new friendships within the industry. And it was so wonderful to see Jared Medaris, CERP, ARA of California president, honored with the Leadership Impact Award for our region. Congratulations!
Even though I have been back from the show in Orlando for a few weeks, I am still integrating all that happened and all I learned.
For me, the education is always a must when attending the show. This year there were the special educational offerings on Saturday and then the full day of education on Sunday. There were so many great topics with amazing speakers. If you didn’t make it to the educational seminars, I strongly encourage you to plan for them in the future.
It also was nice to see the vendors and be able to talk face-to-face with them. The energy of our association comes from our rental operators and manufacturer/supplier members working together to move our industry forward. It is a team effort.
If you went to the show, you were introduced to many new educational offerings that ARA is offering. ARA is going above and beyond and continues to set the bar for what the best practices in our industry are. From truck driving and sales to tent ballasting and so much more, ARA has the resources to help you train and onboard your team to be the best. For more information on these offerings, visit RentalU.
Another great resource is the ARA Job Portal. If you are gearing up to hire people for spring, be sure to check this out. It could help you find the person or persons you are looking for at your operation.
ARA is also taking your voice to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., during National Legislative Caucus later in March. ARA will be leading groups of members to speak on important topics that impact our industry. Watch this space for updates.
Closer to home, the ARA of California will be holding its State Legislative Day in Sacramento, Calif., on April 18. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to me. We will be having discussions with our state legislators regarding forklifts and the push to switch over small engine machines to electric — and what that looks like for our state. We want to bring your stories to legislators, so please let me know how these issues are impacting your operation.
I also plan to offer more Region Nine Updates later this month. Watch your email for specifics on time, date and topic. I hope you will be able to join us for these free and important discussions.
