Hello, American Rental Association (ARA) Region One members.
Well, this is it — my “farewell” message to you as your ARA Region One director. It seems like only a short while ago that I was penning my introductory message here in the In Your Region newsletter. That was three years ago when I began my term as your regional director at the close of The ARA Show™ in Orlando 2020.
Three years goes by fast, but when you add the roller coaster of COVID and all its trappings — well, let’s just say my time in the driver’s seat as your regional director didn’t turn out quite as I had expected. The last three years have brought tough challenges, for sure. But they also have produced opportunities for existing industry relationships to grow stronger and for new ones to be forged as we collectively search for new efficiencies and tackle the post-pandemic rental market. For that, I’m grateful.
I’m also pleased to have served as a conduit during my tenure as your regional director for sharing some of the great resources ARA has delivered for members: the Job Posting Portal, the landmark ARA Certified industry certification programs and the ARA Healthcare Solution offering are just a few of these. I urge you to check out what’s available to you as an ARA member under the “Learn” and “Resources” tabs at ARArental.org.
As you may have noticed, this newsletter is being offered to you in a new format — a more user-friendly version that leads you to the new-and-improved Rental Management website for industry news. To help you stay connected with your rental colleagues and events happening in your state and region, these newsletters will be arriving in your inbox every month, with a rotation of special guests providing the welcome message. Enjoy it as you stay in the know.
At the conclusion of The ARA Show next month, Sarah Wilper with Taylor Rental Center in Manchester, Conn., will be your new regional director. She will do a super job. And as I turn the reins over to Sarah, I want to thank you all for the opportunity to serve you as your regional director. The experience has meant a lot to me.
